Class Descriptions
Dharma Mittra Yoga Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa Series is a stairway
to bliss that reintegrates the continuous flow of prana (cosmic energy)
through the spinal column, emanating deep into all areas of the physical,
metabolic, intuitive and bliss bodies. The carefully selected inspirational
Yoga postures in Sri Dharma's Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa series for all
the levels are a culmination of his 40 years dedicated organization.
They will unify the physical, mental and emotional bodies. Practice
of these asanas strengthens and tones muscles, glands and internal organs.
The postures are performed with slow graceful movements, so fantastic
inner calm and self-control are felt immediately. With regular practice
problems and disease are gradually brought to an end & self-realization
comes easily.
Yoga Basics I
Our center is a wonderful introduction to yoga, and this six week program
is a perfect way to begin your personal practice. All programs are taught
by Sri Dharma's devotees. This course will introduce Sun Salutation,
Dharma Mittra Yoga Level I, and breathing and relaxation techniques.
Emphasis is on stress release, introspection, and physical awareness.
Yoga Basics II
Continue to build on the yoga fundamentals learned in Yoga Basics I
by joining this six week program designed for Yoga Basics I graduates
and advanced beginners. Strength, flexibility, and balance will be enhanced.
Headstand, scorpion and wheel are systematically taught. Personal corrections
are given to eradicate incorrect alignment.
Gentle
This healing session embraces all ages, who wish to finally add the
healing qualities of yoga into their lives. We move the body thru the
classical poses very slowly, gently and conscienciously. There are rests
taken between poses as the body moves towards inner introspection on
a physical and meditative level. This class is highly beneficial for
those returning from an illness or injury, or who haven’t moved in a
long time. It is recommended for those who are just looking for an easy
class, 50 & up, and pre-natal. Everyone will leave refreshed and relaxed.

Dharma Mittra Yoga Level I (Beginner)
This is the beginning level of the Dharma Mittra Yoga series. Students
will practice DMY Surya Namaskar and be introduced to DMY Shiva Namaskar
Vinyasa Level I to warm up the body, bring flexibility to all muscles
and joints, and wake up the nervous system. A gentle yet powerful series
of balancing, stretching, back bending, twisting and inverted postures
will follow. This practice ends with deep relaxation, breathing, and
meditation exercises to remove impurities and bring a sense of well-being
to the body and radiant peace to the mind.
Dharma Mittra Yoga Level I - II (Beginner thru Advanced Beginner)
This class is still designed for Beginner Level I Students. Those attending
classes on regularly will enjoy this practice that builds on the fundamentals
of Dharma Mittra Yoga Level I. Students will gradually learn DMY Shiva
Namaskar Vinyasa Level II, a gentle yet powerful series to wake up the
entire body for practice.
Dharma Mittra Yoga Level II (Advanced Beginner thru Intermediate)
This practice builds on the fundamentals of Dharma Mittra Yoga Level
I, and is designed for those wishing to advance in posture practice.
Students will learn and practice DMY Shiva Namaskar Vinyasa Level II,
igniting the entire body for practice. A series of deeper balancing,
stretching, back bending, twisting and inverted variations will be taught
including the head stand. This practice finishes with extended deep
relaxation, breathing, and meditation exercises which will certainly
bring a deep calm and invigorating energy to the students.
Dharma Mittra Yoga Open & Open Sadhana Level II - III (Mixed Level)
This class is mostly geared towards Intermediate thru Advanced students,
but Advanced Beginners who wish to practice are more than welcome. It
is based mostly on DMY Shiva Namaskara Level II and III practices. This
is a wonderful opportunity to study with Dharma in the evening.
Dharma Mittra Yoga Master Class Level IV- V
(Intermediate, Advanced & Teachers)
This class is for Intermediate thru Advanced students and Teachers.
The practice is Sri Dharma's Level IV and V Shiva Namaskara Vinyasa.
You will see many of Dharma's teachers in this class as well as those
teaching around the world. Be ready to have an amazing and challenging
practice, seeped in the classical traditions that are Dharmaji's basis
of all. Chanting, meditation, yogic philosophy, deep relaxation and
Divine Purification techniques and teachings are included.
Sri Dharma Mittra Workshop Programs
The effects of Dharma Mittra’s classes are remarkable and life changing.
Students and teachers from around the world are forever changed by the
simple, ancient teachings which embrace all aspects of the science of
Yoga, from the physical to the esoteric. Dharma is a true living Yogi,
a rare gem in the world of Yoga today. These workshops and intensives
are designed to help students progress quickly along their path of yoga.
Being established in Sattva, a state of mind where notions such as ‘I’
and ‘mine’, the ‘doer’, and delusion are all absent, Dharma will teach
Shiva Namaskara Vinyasa for all levels—Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced.
He will also impart the traditional Yogic principles of renunciation,
dispassion, reverence, Self-realization, surrender to the Lord, and
love for one and all (the basis of all Yoga) to bring one closer to
the true Self within their own heart. Dharma embodies and imparts the
virtues of Yoga; kindness, patience, humility, fortitude, humor, selfless
service, ahimsa (non-killing), and unlimited love, compassion and understanding
for all. He is a beloved and humble teacher still teaching in the traditional
way, remaining truthful to its classical and historical teachings. His
approach and teachings are loved by all Yogis, and strike the hearts
of all who attend sessions with him. Sri Dharma has initiated thousands
into the Holy practice of Yoga, and emphasizes “complete surrender to
the Lord. Without this, there will be no success in Yoga”.
Purification
Includes ancient breathing and chakra techniques, mantra japa, relaxation,
chanting, and meditation. This purification leads to higher states of
physical and mental health, culminating ultimately in blissful Self-realization.
The session:
• promotes clarity leading to freedom (Vairagya)
• removes negative states of mind and activates positive thinking
to help manifest your desires
• opens chakra centers and removes blocks to the flow of prana
• improves concentration
• purifies the five koshas (sheaths), bringing health and integration
of the body, mind and spirit.
Psychic Development
Teaches a special series of mental exercises to improve your psychic
abilities and projection of your thoughts. They include specific breathing
exercises, directed visualizations, and these two powerful mantras:
• Mantra for Purification
• Mantra for Unification
They will establish perfect psychic rhythm to mental patterns which
put power behind your thoughts, making it easier to achieve your goals
and desires in life. These ancient techniques have only been passed
down by word of mouth from teacher to disciple and continue to be taught
this way. This class culminates in a final meditation to make your personal
dreams a reality.
Maha Sadhana: The Great Practice
The Great Divine Whole and Complete Eternal Practices of Sri Dharma.
This amazing session begins with spiritual Purification discourses from
the aster conveying the ancient teaching into our modern lives. It continues
with in-depth, long and challenging Shiva Namaskara posture practice,
including healing deep relaxation and a meditation practice. Dharma
joyously includes his Devotional Dharma Asana Satsang Jam. Personal
attention and helpful hints are given throughout the session as well
as direction toward the real true goal of Yoga. For Intermediates thru
Advanced Yogis. Please pre-register in advance for this once a month
special workshop that should not be missed.
Kirtan
Devotional chanting held on the second Friday of each month at 8:45
p.m. by donation. Bakti Yoga is the Yoga of devotion to the true inner
self. Calling for, or chanting the names of the Divine, is considered
the simplest method to find peace. Hanuman
Chalisa, a 40 verses in praise of Hanuman chanted 11 times on the
third Friday of each month. Everyone can sing! |
